WESTFIELD NURSERY SCHOOL DUNSTABLE

Our school has been open since the 1970’s. We are an 'outstanding' Nursery School (Ofsted 2016) providing excellent care and education for 2 -4-year-old children living in Dunstable and the surrounding area.
We have the benefit of being purposely built and resourced for young children, so they have the very best start on their educational journey without the ‘top down’ pressures which may occur within a Primary School setting.
We all hope that children will have a wonderful experience at Nursery and make the most of the opportunities that we provide. Working closely with parents and carers our aim is to develop a life- long love for learning.
We hope you enjoy looking at our website. Please do come and see for yourself how great our school is. Just ring, email or use our contact form to make an appointment and contact Mrs Cavendish if you have any queries.
‘Children’s achievement and progress are outstanding.’
‘Staff work together as an exceptionally dedicated team who care for children and their families successfully’
Ofsted 2016
Before your child starts we will meet with families to go through our home-school pack. We find out lots of information about each child so that we can settle them quickly and best look after them.
Children are assigned to a specific class, and during visits you will be introduced to the lead practitioner and class team which will include your child’s key worker. (All adults are referred to as teachers whether they are qualified teachers, nursery nurses or teaching assistants). A key worker is the grown up who is your child’s main contact and they will spend time getting to know and supporting your child.
Our aim is to give children the best care and education possible in our 'outstanding' nursery setting. Our staff are very highly qualified and they focus on the children having fun and learning while they are playing.
We currently have four classes which have a main classroom, smaller story rooms and are all linked to our wonderfully spacious gardens, which boast grass and soft surfaces and are well equipped with a range of equipment and toys.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. If you would like more information about the EYFS please click here to view the parent's guide.
We do not have a catchment area to find out more about our admission arrangements, please see the admissions policy.
If you have any queries you can contact the school and ask to speak to Mrs Collins, Head teacher of Mrs Cavendish, Office Manager.
