PEDAGOGY

Pedagogy (our method and practice of teaching)
Our High Scope approach has three key stands
-Active participation of children in choosing, organizing, and evaluating learning activities, which are undertaken with careful adult observation and guidance in a learning environment replete with a rich variety of materials located in various classroom learning areas
-Regular daily planning by the staff in accord with a developmentally based curriculum model and careful child observations
-Developmentally sequenced goals and materials for children based on the High/Scope “key experiences”.

UNIFORM

Uniform is optional. Some parents like uniform because it helps their child get ready for school and it helps children to learn which are Nursery days. It also saves other clothes from paint, glue, mud and other messy play! For those who opt to wear the uniform their is the choice of new uniform or pre-loved uniform. We have polo shirts, sweatshirts, cardigans, fleeces and book bags. Please make any enquiries about uniform at the school office. For those who choose not to wear uniform we ask that clothes are suitable for messy play activities.
We ask that children attending Nursery bring appropriate shoes and clothing to suit the weather conditions.
