EQUALITY

Equality
Early years equality is the practice of treating all children, staff and families, governors and visitors fairly and equally, regardless of their background or circumstances. It is important to promote equality in early years because it helps children develop a sense of fairness and inclusion, which can positively impact their self-esteem and future well-being.
Legislation-Equality Act 2010
The Act protects the rights of individuals and prohibits discrimination based on protected characteristics e.g. race, gender, disability, and religion.
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework
The EYFS requires early years providers to promote equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practices.
