3 & 4 Year Old Classes
We admit children into our Nursery classes the term after they turn 3 years old. There are three classes, Caterpillars, Ladybirds and Butterflies.
Our session times are:-
Mornings: 8.45am - 11.45am
Afternoons: 12.30pm - 3.30pm
30 hours Government Funded 8.45am -3.30pm
The children usually start off in our afternoon sessions when there are less children and they are all the same age. We find that the high number of staff to children in the afternoon sessions really helps the children to settle in quickly.
As the children get older they may be offered a morning place to use their free entitlement of 15 hours per week. We may also provide extra, paid for sessions and lunchtimes if we have enough space.
Our aim is to give your child the best care and education possible in our 'outstanding' nursery setting. Our staff are very highly qualified and they focus on the children having fun and learning while they are playing. Their education is planned on their interests, abilities and needs.
We like to work with parents and carers right from the start and love to find out what your child has been doing and learning at home throughout their time at Westfield.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. If you would like more information about the EYFS please click here to view the parents guide.
