Attendance
All schools have admission and attendance registers.
Regular attendance is good for children's well-being, social interactions and learning.
Children who have regular absences can be unsettled as well as missing key elements of learning. Research shows that children who attend well at school make better progress than those who are regularly absent.
As a parent/ carer you are responsible for ensuring your child develops the habit of regular attendance. Good attendance is key for academic progress and attainment, and it does not matter if these absences are authorised (we know the reason) or unauthorised (no reason has been given).
All schools have to monitor and report on attendance. Please report any absence via a telephone message or via Studybugs. Nursery will call to enquire about the reason for the absence if we do not hear from you.
Please ensure your child is on time. Morning sessions drop off time is 8.45am-8.55am. Afternoons drop off time is 12.30-12.40pm.
Morning collection is 11.35am-11.45am
Afternoon collection is 3.20-3.30pm
Late drop offs and early collections are upsetting to your child, disruptive to teaching and mean missed leaning.
Our attendance champion is Mrs Collins, Head teacher. We have high expectations for good attendance at Nursery to help our children become school ready.
If you need support please speak to Mrs Collins, or your child's class teacher. Thank you.
We understand that our young children are still building their immunity and may have periods of illness. We ask you do not send them in if you have given them Calpol or similar pain relief. Children who have had sickness and diarrhoea need to be kept at home for 48hours from the last bout to stop illness spreading amongst others. Children taking antibiotics should not return to Nursery for 24 hours to ensure they have no adverse reaction. Children with infectious illnesses such as chicken pox should be kept at home- please always inform us about infectious illness so we can inform others. If in doubt you can ask advice from your child's class teacher or the office.
